NodeSecure is an AnyCast name server service. The NodeSecure name servers are distributed around the world and guarantee an extremely high availability and fast access times.
Unicast vs. anycast
Unicast is the common standard for the provision of the Domain Name Systems (DNS). Each name server has a unique IP address. DNS requests of the client to the name server need to reach exactly this IP regardless of its location. This can lead to longer running times or even timeouts. In case a name server cannot be reached, all services under the IP will be affected.
With anycast the requests are sent directly to the nearest available name server. This guarantees short response times. In addition, NodeSecure offers high availability of the DNS. If a name server location is restricted, the request will be automatically forwarded to the next name server.
